Honey is one of Earth’s natural wonders. As beneficial as it is when consumed, the benefits Honey provides to your skin is priceless. From Ancient Egypt to the Ming Dynasty, Honey has been used as a beauty product throughout history. It is time that we follow in our historical sister’s footsteps and incorporate this gem into our beauty regime.
The powerful skin replenishing properties of honey has made it my go-to skincare choice for cleansing, moisturizing masks, and exfoliator.
Here are reasons why Honey should be your go-to as well:
- It’s a humectant. Honey will attract and then trap the moisture into the tissue, making it the best face wash ever created. Just like a moisturizer, honey refills the skin cells with water, so you’ll have a well-hydrated complexion. As we know in VictoriaLand, hydration is key!
- It provides important nutrients. This natural ingredient combines carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and wraps them up in a liquid form, great for the overall health of our body. Infused with calcium, iron, potassium, and vitamin C, honey can restore your skin’s natural glow.
- It is chock full of antioxidants. Antioxidants have the power to destroy free radicals. Those pesky radicals wreak havoc on your skin and speed up the aging process. It is safe to say that we are ok if those suckers are destroyed.
- It’s an antibacterial agent. Acting as a natural disinfectant, this bee product can treat skin infections and kill bacteria. This is a great way to treat and even prevent acne. And yes, even in our 40s we still have to worry about acne.
It’s no wonder this liquid gold is a true treasure!
And now a Public Service Announcement! Be warned all honey is not created equal. With more than 300 types of honey available, look for products that are being labeled as “raw” and “unfiltered”. This means that the honey wasn’t stripped of all its nutrients by being processed too much. What this means for your skin is that you will get all of the good stuff to make your skin radiant.
Feel free to share how honey has helped your skin on the VictoriaLand Beauty Facebook Page. I’d love to hear from you.
